Repertoire of Workshop Dances

Step Dance

Done without music, this dance uses rhythms made by the dancers to create an enthusiastic opening.

Unity

Using contemporary music and movements "hip-hop" this dance focuses on energy and captures the attention of every audience.

Bullying

Teased and taunted by hurtful words, this group of unwilling victims raise in protest to confront their tormentors.   With one heart-felt question, the intimidators are moved to look past the outer differences of their victims and truly "see" the individuals who deserve respect.

Equality

This dramatic dance demonstrates the importance of recognising that man and woman are created equal and that the development of both is essential to the advancement of our society.

Peer Pressure

In her search and longing to fit in with the "in crowd" one innocent victim becomes the plaything of her peers.  She quickly learns that she is only liked and accepted if she does as they do.  Following their lead, she faces a series of choices that may affect her health and safety.

The Dance of Betrayal (the drug dance)

Depicts a young girl's plunge into the clutches of drugs and alcohol and her painful struggle to overcome her addiction and regain control of her life.

Racism

The innocent friendship of children is destroyed as racism is tragically passed from one generation to the next.

Violence - The Dance

Long after the physical wounds have healed, victims of violent crimes suffer from the emotional scars left by their relentless attackers.  Here, the perpetrators are brought to Justice and witness the terror they have inflicted.

Communication

In a world where communication - virtually anywhere - is instantaneous, have we forgotten how to communicate?

Abuse

Society members ignore the signs of abuse suffered by one family as they struggle to survive the devastating cycle of domestic violence.

Poverty

Illustrates the extremes of wealth and poverty. It emphasises the importance of society assuming it's responsibly for the problem and helping to create a balance between the two extremes.

Women as Peacemakers

The pages of history are stained by the blood of countless lives lost in wars.  "Only as women are welcomed into full partnership in all fields of human endeavour - will the moral and physiological climate be reached in which international peace can emerge."

Aids

One young woman loses her future and her life because of the heartbreaking consequences of one frivolous choice.

Environmental

A dramatization of Mother Earth and her children - Air, Water, Fire, Earth, as they battle the noxious pollutants and destruction created by their young and arrogant sibling, Human.

Multi-Cultural

A celebration of the beauty and diversity of our human family!  The audience will get a glimpse of a variety of cultural dances that may include: Japanese, Persian, Country Western, Pilipino, African, Irish, Latin, Native American and Ukrainian as they join in a celebration of the beauty and diversity of our human family.

Progressive Revelation - only performed by request

Members of various faith groups enter worshiping the Creator in their own way.  When they come face to face, there is a refusal to accept or appreciate other's beliefs.   The spirit of unity enters and they soon realize that they have all been worshiping the same God.
