Performance Requirements

Stage or Floor Space

Workshop performances are more effective when presented on a full stage with proper wings and curtains. However, a gym floor, community centre, or mall area is adequate providing that the "performance space" is a minimum of approximately 6 x 6 meters (20ft x 20ft).

Sound System

We would prefer to use the sound system of the hosting school or community if it is adequate. However, Workshop does have a system that can be transported, set up and used if needed.

Lighting

There is no doubt that a good lighting system enhances the performance, but limitations in this area should not be a cause for concern; Workshop does have lights that can be used if needed.

Dressing Rooms

If there is not adequate space in the wings of a regular stage, then male and female dressing rooms (or school bathrooms) within easy access to the stage or performance area is sufficient.

After the Performance

Workshop members enjoy answering questions from the audience. If requested prior to our visit, and time permits, members may be invited into classrooms or break into groups for further discussions.

Financial Responsibility & Transportation

To help offset the expenses, a set honorarium fee and travel expenses is most appreciated from the hosting school, institution, or community responsible for the arrangements involved with a Workshop visit.  Details can be discussed with the Workshop Co-ordinator at 250.743.7144 ext 151 fax: 250.743.3522 or email: workshop@maxwell.bc.ca
